A 10-time AWA World Heavyweight Champion, Verne Gagne is arguably one of the most prolific wrestlers, trainers, and promoters in professional wrestling 

Debuting in 1949, Gagne became a household name through his spot on Dumont Network TV in the 1950s.

Alongside Wally Karbo, Verne purchased a controlling stake in the Minneapolis Wrestling Club forming the American Wrestling Association (AWA) in 1960. 

An ambassador for professional wrestling, Verne Gagne is regarded as one of the godfathers of professional wrestling.
